Oklahoma Landowner Finds Solution for Vintage Yanmar YB35 Track Issue
Oklahoma: a landowner who owns over 300 acres recently encountered a problem with his 1980s Yanmar YB 35 DX mini excavator, a machine that’s been essential for maintaining his expansive property. The excavator, although aging, has continued to perform well with a sturdy engine and tight components. However, the bushings on the steel tracks have worn out over the years, leaving the machine temporarily out of service.
Yanmar YB35DX Not Supported By Yanmar
The owner initially reached out to Yanmar, hoping to find replacement parts, but ran into a common hurdle. His YB35DX model, considered a “gray market” mini excavator, isn’t supported by Yanmar for parts or service—Yanmar restricts servicing these models in certain markets. Facing limited options, he turned to our team for a solution.
After several days of discussions and detailed measurements, we verified the exact specifications of his YB 35 DX model, confirming the existing track’s design. This machine features a 12-inch wide steel track with 40 shoes, a setup that’s both sturdy and unique. Fortunately, with these details in hand, we were able to source and ship the necessary steel components to get his machine up and running again.
The parts are on their way, and in just a couple of weeks, (Will update in a few weeks) the Yanmar YB35DX will be back in action, ready to tackle any task on the land.
